From policy reports and research publications to new roles and projects, our alumni have been busy shaping the future of European AI governance.
We’re also excited to kick off the Autumn 2025 cohort with 24 fantastic new fellows selected from a competitive round of over 1,000 applications.

Job Updates
Congratulations to the following alumni in their new positions!
Max Reddel (Summer 2022) became an Expert Member of the EU’s Responsible Innovation & Technology Coalition, contributing to the Intergenerational Fairness Strategy.
Konstantin Pilz (Summer 2023) became a full-time Research Project Specialist at RAND and will co-teach an AI policy course this fall with Lennart Heim.
Max Räuker (Summer 2023) rejoined the AI Policy Bulletin team and began work at Future Matters to shape its AI governance strategy.
Alix Pham (Summer 2024) joined the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance as a Strategic Programs Associate.
Open Opportunities
The team at RAND is hiring individuals with expertise in machine learning, AI hardware, or semiconductors to work on export controls and verification for AI agreements.
Speaking Events
Agatha Duzan (Winter 2025) participated in a May roundtable on AI safety and governance with the Simon Institute and Geneva Graduate Institute, discussing youth engagement in responsible AI development.

Max Reddel & Felicity Reddel (Summer 2022) authored a structured, evidence-based examination of AI’s current state, its potential for impact, and the key uncertainties that shape its future.
Daan Juijn & Sam Bogerd (Summer 2023) published a scenario study exploring five potential AI futures in Europe, used to stress-test governance frameworks with policymakers.

Kristina Fort (Summer 2024) published a blog post analysing Czech AI policy and its implications for the EU AI Act.
Jacob Schaal (Winter 2024) presented research from his time as Research Manager at Orion to the UK AI Safety Institute, examining infosharing approaches within UK competition law.
Infrastructure and Technical Governance
Konstantin Pilz (Summer 2023) compiled a global dataset of over 500 AI supercomputers, finding exponential increases in performance, power requirements, and cost.
Israel Mason-Williams (Winter 2025) published four papers at ICML Workshops: one with Technical AI Governance (TAIG), two with High Dimensional Learning Dynamics (HiLD), and one with Methods and Opportunities at Small Scale (MOSS).
Safety and Security
Evžen Wybitul (Winter 2025) authored a short paper on verification-based access controls for managing dual-use model outputs, accepted to the ICML Technical AI Governance workshop.
Arturs Kanepajs (Winter 2025) presented the AnimalHarmBench paper at the FAccT conference in Athens.
Agatha Duzan (Winter 2025) co-authored a benchmark for evaluating the safety of computer-use AI agents.
Ariel Gil (Winter 2025) published a paper on preparing for AI-assisted safety research.
